Has anybody ever purchased a barrel of wine? I am looking at it for a couple off reasons
- Cost Savings (not having to pay to have it bottled)
- Hassle of Bottles
We drink about 1 bottle of wine per night (5 person family). Assuming that a barrel holds about 288 bottles of wine, we could have a red and white last us for a couple of years - less or more depending on how often we drank other wines or had parties.
Is this feasible? Does wine last for 2+ years in a barrel? How would I have to store it (I have a storage room that is not temperature controlled, but it would be very easy to make it temperature controlled).
