Never talk about tears/legs in wine notes

The very pretty and observable phenomena that are the legs/tears of wine have NOTHING to do with the quality or viscosity of the wine. While it is true that higher alcohol can make a difference, the amount is greater than wine contains (i.e. brandy and wine have different tears). While I can write all day about the Marangoni Effect (and have in my books and website) this video does a great simple explanation: http://ift.tt/16fD9Iw

Just say no to writing or talking about tears.
