Why are the majority of sparkling wines made from white grapes?

I know there are sparkling rosé wines, but why haven't I seen a sparkling cabernet sauvignon, zinfandel, nino noir, etc... I'm also a total wine noob, as beer is my first love. Sorry in advanced if I say something that does't make sense.
