Last night my girlfriend and I cracked a nice bottle of wine (not knowing our friends would show up). We were only halfway through our bottle when they showed up with a totally inferior and undrinkable wine (by almost anyones standards).
I didn't want them to finish ours leaving us with the crap wine, so I cracked theirs and poured it for them. My girlfriend agrees that it was rude of us but neither us of wanted drink the garbage they brought.
What would have been a better way to approach these situations as none of our friends drink comparable wines?
