Hello people of r/wine, I'm after some info on Burgundy. Now, I know that Burgundy is complex and can't be explained quickly, but if anyone can explain some of their top producers, tasting notes on certain wines (preferably of the Pinot Noir kind) or areas etc it'd be appreciated. Basically info that isn't super generic.
Also, while I'm based in Australia (where prices on Burgundy are ridiculous) I have a friend coming back from London (where Burgundy at normal prices exist) and am keen on getting a couple of bottles through her. Budget is around $75 a bottle, happy to go up slightly if it's worth it - so recommend away! I'm very familiar with Pinot Noir here in Australia, so I'm looking for quality Burgundy Reds that are typical of that 'old world' style, something of a counterpoint to the mainly Australian Pinot collection in my cellar.
Cheers!
