A friend of mine was telling me about a wine called Purple Pachyderm, which is made by Claypool Cellars. This particular winery is owned by Les Claypool, the bassist from Primus. I have yet to find any reviews of the wine online, so I am trying to figure out if it is just a gimmicky wine, or if it is actually any good. It sells for $70 a bottle, which is more than I usually spend, but my friend wanted me to go in on it with him. I don't mind spending the money, if the wine is good... but I don't want to drop $70 on what basically boils down to a label. Any thoughts on this one? From what I have read, it is a Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley.
