So here's my use case: I'm the only drinker in the house and I drink 3-5 glasses per week (used to be a lot more but cutting down for health reasons)
The idea is to have a pool of 3-4 "accessed" bottles at any given time, so that I could mix and match according to the meals we are cooking, i.e. have an aperitif, a main course wine, and a dessert wine.
My concerns: The Coravin argon capsules are massively, criminally overpriced, and are only regular ISI capsules with a custom plastic bit. Not planning to keep accessed bottles for years, so degradation is not a concern.
There's Pungo which has the advantages of lower gas pressure and being able to use off the shelf ISI capsules. However, the needle hole is big enough that it needs to be plugged with a golf tee like device. It seems to me like that would shorten the life of the accessed wine considerably.
Are there any other alternatives I should consider for my use case? Or is Coravin the only game in town?
