WSET Diploma students: do you buy all the recommended books?

A question to the past and present WSET Diploma students: how much do/did you invest for the books? I am going to start the Diploma in a few days, I have all the Study Guides, Distilling Knowledge, the Oxford Companion to Wine and the World Atlas by Hugh Johnson, but there are a lot of highly recommended sources I do not own. My first concern is of course UNIT 2: the study guide recommends reading Grapes and Wines by Clarke and Rand (insane price, I'll pass) and books from Skelton (Viticulture - An Introduction to Commercial Wine Grape Growing), Bird (Understanding Wine Technology) and Goode (Wine Science). I don't want to waste money in manuals I don't really need, so I was wondering how much are these books necessary and if some are more useful than others.

Any advice is welcome, also for books for other units, and thank you in advance.
