Wine storage question -- tissue paper?

I store my wine in a Vinotheque "cellar" (fancy word for wine fridge, right?).

Anyway, some of the wine I buy comes with the bottles wrapped in tissue paper from the winery.

Is there any benefit, or any harm, to storing the wine with the tissue paper still on it? Is this just a shipping thing to protect the wine label? Is it to decrease the amount of light which might touch the wine? Any reason to leave it or remove it, or does it just not matter either way?
