Please help me find my new world "regular" wine.

I'm a huge beer aficionado that recently had my world opened up to wine. So much so that I rarely drink beer these days (my half a case of Westvleteren just sits there.) I'm currently in Europe so I have access to lots of good wine but not a whole lot of new world stuff. I recently discovered that I am partial to Amarone della Valpolicella from Italy, and usually drink the Valpolicella Ripasso as it's got a lot of the same character while being much cheaper. I also recently discovered Selvarossa Riserva which I LOVE. My problem is that I'm moving back to the US and want to find a new world wine that is similar to what I like over here. Sooo, could anyone give me some good American wine selections that are close to the following:

  • Similar to Amarone (maybe something using dried grapes?)

  • VERY oaky but low in tannins. The Selvarossa is 18 months on oak but not too tannic. I love it.

  • Buttery in the mouth/lowish acidity. Almost chocolatey.

  • Fruity.

  • Dark, rich red.

Also, be warned that I am a total wine noob, so have mercy on me with my descriptions. Thanks for any and all suggestions!!!!!
