I'm in the Albany NY area. Recently a friend of my sister's visited from South Africa and brought some cabernet and pinotage along. I am relatively new to wines, but I really loved this cab over US cabs that I've had. The pinotage was good too. The cab she brought had a really rich black currant flavor, a little oak flavor too. I really liked it a lot, but I don't know where to find anything like it around here. It's from Stellenbosch but I'm not sure of the specific vineyard. I know the name was very long, not in english/french/etc. (probably afrikans?) and I'm pretty sure started with the letter D. I don't really need the specific wine, but maybe one like it? I haven't tried many from the US, so I might be able to get one from a local store that tastes similar. Sorry if I haven't really given the best info. I didn't realize how tricky this would be to find, nor how important some of the info is.
