Hi r/wine,
I would say I have probably had last than 10 glasses of wine in my whole lifetime. These have only ever been given to me at family meals.
I very recently moved to Bordeaux which I gather is pretty famous for the stuff. My question is what sort of gateway wines should I try to get my hands on based on my beery preferences.
These are some of my favourite beer styles and some general tasting notes to go with them:
India Pale Ale: Bitter, hoppy, tropical fruits, citrus, piny
Saison: Belgian yeasts, esters, apples, funky, tart, refreshing
Imperial stout: Dark, thick, high ABV, fully bodied, coffee, sweet, chocolate
Also I am a 20 year old student so nothing too crazily expensive.
Thank you!
