2015 Louis/Dressner Portfolio Tasting

So, last night in Denver, Natural Wine Co. Put on the annual Dressner tasting at The Source. One of my favorite portfolios, with such an emphasis on terroir and wines that are unique, yet true to their varietal. It was a special surprise that Eric Texier was on hand and poured some of his delicious Rhones. Some highlights:

2o13 Clos Roche Blanche Sauvignon Blanc from Touraine. Intense minerality, grapefruit pith, and grass. Everything I want in a Loire white.

A couple great Beaujolais were on hand, including the always amazing amazing Clos De La Roillete Cuvée Tardive and the Coquelet Chiroubles.

Occhipinti's Frappato and Nero D'avola were so intriguing. Relatively light on the palate, but packing so much concentration they almost came off jammy, while still being elegant.

Of course Texier's Cotes Du Rhone and St Julien were crowd pleasers, as usual, and it was great to be able to chat with a producer I respect so much.
